One often overlooked aspect of Kitchen iQ is its ability to streamline coffee and bar drink dispense management, ensuring greater control and efficiency.
Using a tablet offers an efficient way to process and manage orders while providing valuable insights into drink preparation and delivery times through reporting.
To be able to setup this feature you must ensure that:

You have a tablet that can access the same network as Kitchen iQ

By either Wifi or Wired network

Before starting configuration plan how orders are going to work on each site

Can they all use the same setup

Do sites have multiple service and dispense areas

How many tablets are needed

How do I setup drinks dispense configuration?
To get started we've broken this down into multiple steps which will describe setup with a couple of different service examples, some steps might need to be repeated depending on the overall configuration needed.

Step 1 of 6
Prep Streams & Portions

Add the required Prep Streams that will be used for any routing (optional as routing could just be by course only)

Add the required Portions that will be used when displaying orders

Courses

Add Courses for Bar Drinks / Hot Drinks (or a combined course)

Set the required attributes

Stations

Add the required Stations that will be used for routing orders

Set the required Order Stage

Example 1:
When an order is prepared and bumped the order will leave the tablet and exit the system

Create a single station "Drinks Preparation" with order stage "Preparation
Example 2:
When an order is prepared and bumped the order could either remain on the tablet until bumped again or progress to another device which is used for serving (rather than preparation of orders)

Create two stations "Drink Preparation" with order stage "Preparation" & " Drinks Serving" with order stage "Serving"
If multiple service areas are used for drinks or coffee dispense setup the required number of stations needed for your organisations requirements

Add the required Terminal Groups that could be used for any routing filters

Example 1:
When drinks are ordered at the bar they are not required to be routed as the bar will prepare and serve the drinks immediately, only orders from restaurant / floor / handheld terminals are needed to be routed to screens for preparation

Create a terminal group "Restaurant"
Example 2:
Onsite there are two dispense locations for drinks, serving areas will control the routing of orders by selected table numbers

Create serving areas "Dispense 1" and "Dispense 2"

Add an Entry Point Routing Rule to Station "Drinks Dispense"

Add an Exit Point Routing Rule from Station "Drinks Dispense to "Exit Point" (for example 1)

Add a Routing Rule from Station "Drinks Dispense" to "Drinks Serving" (for example 2)

Adjust the order of any rules
When an order enters the system it will work down the rules until it matches and action based on the criteria, if the rule is not in the correct place the order may go to the wrong station -

How do I setup tablet on site?
Once the configuration has been completed and the onsite configuration updated the tablet device can be used onsite.

Connect the device to the Kitchen iQ network

Open a browser on the device

Browse to the Kitchen iQ server based on the following URL format:
